When it comes to leadership, God is most interested in why, how and to where leaders lead their people. The success for leaders is that they guide God’s people to become the people of God’s character. Christian leaders should mentor and teach the people to live as Christ-followers in every sphere of life, not just within the four walls of the church building. This is why the character of a leader must precede any extraordinary skills and qualifications.

The term, human resources, should be an oxymoron because humans are not to be consumed as resources for whatever purpose. Humans as restored God’s image in Jesus Christ is the purpose! This is the success that leaders are working for. What does it mean to raise and lead people for God?

Where are you leading your people?

  • Are you leading them for their good? Or for your own good?
  • Are you leading them to their success? Or your own success?
  • Are they mere human resources or humans created in God’s image?

The success of leadership is not the result you produce. It’s the people you lead.
