BT’s wisdom on relationship

If you want a good relationship, you’ll have to invest a lot of time into that relationship. Quality time comes from how much time you spend with the person in the relationship.

BT said, “The greatest joys in life are happy memories, which you can revisit at any moment of time. The great business of life is to create as many of them as possible.” I can’t agree with him more. The most joyful moments in life come when we are with people we love and care about. No one’s going to say, “I wish I worked longer and harder” on his deathbed. What people regret most before they die is the fact that they didn’t spend enough time with their loved ones.

What would you do and how would you spend your time if you knew that you only had one year to live?

BT also suggested a few things on how to invest in relationship.

First, listen. Listening builds trust. Before you say anything, listen. Ask a question before making a statement.

Second, be positive. You can always choose to react positively no matter what.

Third, be agreeable, not argumentative.

Fourth, be curious.

Fifth, smile often.

Sixth, express appreciation.

Seventh, practice admiration by giving compliments.

Eighth, express praise and approval.

Ninth, pay attention!
