How can you be effective and productive at work?

Brian Tracy said the three most important ideas in productivity are clarity, focus and concentration.

In order to get clarity, you need to know what is expected of you. What exactly is your job description? What is required of you at work? Get clarity first if you want to be productive at work.

The next words are focus and concentration. In order to focus, you need to make sure there are no distractions. Since you have already acquired clarity about what you have to do, make sure your environment is distraction-free.

Tracy suggests to ask these, “If you could do ONE task all day long, which one activity would contribute the greatest value to your work?” Now, write down what that task is. Then, “If you could do TWO tasks all day long, what would be the second activity?” Now, write down the second task. Finally, “If you could do THREE tasks all day long, what would be the third activity?” Now you have the three most important activities you need to work on while ignoring everything else. Learn to say no to any other except for the three tasks.

Being productive requires us to have clarity, focus, and concentration. By following the guideline here, you can become much more effective at your work.
